Your assignment for today is to RESEARCH the history of your instrument, focusing on how it was and currently is manufactured or made. Please copy the following questions into a NEW Microsoft Word Document and place your answer below each question. Save your document as "LAST NAME, FIRST LETTER OF FIRST NAME: Instrument History assignment"
1. Which instrument family is your instrument part of? (For percussionists you will have more than one instrument - choose only ONE percussion instrument please)
2. What other types or variations of your instrument exists? (ie. Snare drum variation = field drum).
3. How is your instrument made or manufactured?
4. What are the methods of playing your instrument? (Traditional and non-traditional AKA what groups would you generally see your instrument being played in? What groups would you generally NOT see your instrument being played in?)
5. What REGISTER (low voice, medium voice, high voice) does your instrument play in?
6. What is the ORIGIN of your instrument and how has it evolved?
7. Who invented your instrument?
8. What different styles of music does your instrument perform in?
9. What is an example of a famous work written for your instrument? (Include the approximate date of the musical work: Ex. Beethoven's "Fur Elise" was written in 1810)
10. Give 1-3 examples of famous composer's who wrote music for your instrument.
11. Give  1-3 examples of famous musicians who have made your instrument more popular or well known. (Ex: Andrea Brachfeld = New York Jazz flute player)
12. Please include a photograph of your instrument.
