Hey friends!
I have recently entered a song of mine in a National Songwriting Contest entitled "Keys to the Junos 2016". The winners of this contest will receive passes to attend the Juno Awards in Calgary! Feel free to share the link to spread the word! The song I have entered is about being stuck in the "friend zone" and was written for a dear friend of mine. The video is included below!

West Ed Adventures

Hi Folks!
I am not sure what you did over your break but I had the experience of a lifetime in the West Edmonton Mall Waterpark. Yes... I went on the slide.... that has a flip on it. A waterslide with a flip? What a feat of physics!
It was probably one of the most frightening yet exciting experiences of my life. You climb up a tonne of stairs...step into a small room, the floor comes out from beneath you and whoomp! You get dropped into the tubing of the slide...and it feels as though you are going to drop to the centre of the earth! And down I dropped...screaming (mind you, I normally laugh when I am afraid) with my eyes squeezed shut. You move down the blasted purple plastic tube so fast you don't realize you are upside down in the air...well I guess not in the air, but in the air encased in a plastic tube! And at last, you arrive at the bottom of the slide where you shoot through a shallow pool of water at the slide's base. I don't know if you've ever been on this slide or not, but I felt like a rock skipping on the top of a lake!
And at last, I stood up, holding my beloved green glasses in my hands (I could not find my contacts to wear) and with approximately 500mL more H20 in my body than when I stepped onto the slide. Aside from the dramatic illustrations of the waterslide experience - it was really fun! I do not think, however, that I will be able to work up the nerve to do such a thing again!
I hope you had an excellent school break - and that it was filled with adventure, peace, hope and love.
Blessings!
ER

Info Pro 10 Assignment February 8/16

Ergonomics Assignment

You are an ergonomics expert who wants to design and construct your dream workstation/office. What is ergonomics? Ergonomics is a science that deals with designing and arranging things so that people can use them easily and safely. Therefore, your task is to design a dream office/workspace that YOU can use safely and easily. This means that your equipment will not hinder your work experience and performance.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Choose all of your office equipment – from keyboards, to monitors, projection screens, smart boards, office pens, staplers, etc. to a Slushie maker, popcorn machine, coffee machine, etc.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

  1. The amount of space you have for your office. How many square feet will your office space require? Where will your office be located? In your home or in a separate location? Lighting? Heating? Air conditioning?
  2. Brainstorm a list of all of the supplies and items you will include in your office.
  3. CREATE A BUDGET FOR YOURSELF. How much will the construction of your office cost? How much will it cost to install all items into your office? (You will create a spreadsheet with all of the costs.)
  4. Please make a collection of images and costs of the supplies either in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
  5. Create a lay-out for your dream office on Paint or another design program. You must map out where your desk will be located, computer, etc.
  6. Present your dream office to the class with the proposed budget. Explain how the office shows proficiency in ergonomics and design. You must include a list of the products, benefits of the products, costs of products, etc.
  7. Submit the formal design of the office, spreadsheet, and a final report to be graded.

Keep in mind:

There are MANY available resources online regarding ergonomics. Be creative with this assignment and have fun!
