Events from the Past Weekend!

Hello Folks!
Did you know that two very exciting things happened within the Church calendar this past weekend?
Firstly, on Saturday, April 2, 2016 we celebrated the 11th Anniversary of Saint Pope John Paul II's death who is known for the slogan "Be Not Afraid". It is amazing how quickly John Paul II was canonized as a Saint of the Catholic Church! He was canonized on April 17, 2014 along with Saint Pope John XXIII - that's only 9 years after his death! (Amazing!) Secondly, on Sunday, April 3, 2016 we celebrated DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY which is Jesus Christ's plea to humanity to rely on his mercy and grace. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a prayer given to a Polish nun, Saint Faustina Kowalska who, by the way, was canonized by Saint Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000 - 62 years after her death in 1938 at the age of 33 years old. What is exciting about this past weekend is that it was a mercy-filled weekend which suits our Jubilee Year of Mercy perfectly.
I hope you all had a blessed Easter!
