Christian Ethics 8 Timeline Assignment

Hello Grade Eights!
I want you first to ask yourself the following questions...
1. What is LIFE according to our Faith?
2. What are the THREE purposes of LIFE according to our Faith?

I sure hope you can name them!

Today I want you to do a little of brainstorming for me. I want you to think of the AWE-FULL moments in your life. These are the moments that you were filled with wonder and awe. That being said, that does not mean that these moments have to be HAPPY or JOYFUL. Some tragic events can leave you in awe, wondering why they happened and what God's intentions were.

So here is the Plan Stan!
STEP ONE:
In a Microsoft Word Document, please make a LIST of these AWE-FULL moments in your life beginning with your birth up to the present.
ex.
1. Birth: December 28, 2002 in Davao City, Philippines.
2. Welcomed my younger brother Malcolm John to the family on March 31, 2006.
3. Started attending Kindergarten at Riverside School in Prince Albert.
etc!

An example of an AWE-FULL event (happy):
-Meeting your childhood best friend on the playground

An example of an AWE-FULL event (tragic/sad)
-Losing your cousin to a car accident in the mountains.

Your AWE-FULL Brainstorm list should consist of at least 10-15 items.
-Think of family trips you have been on
-Have you moved from half-way across the world?
-Do you have younger siblings?
-When did you first start playing your sport? Musical instrument?
-Do you have a summer-time tradition such as going to the lake?
-Are you involved with your church? Your community? With volunteering?
-Are you a part of any local organizations such as the SPCA?

PLEASE SAVE THE BRAINSTORM AS "LAST NAME, FIRST LETTER OF FIRST NAME: TIMELINE BRAINSTORM"

STEP TWO:
Once you have completed your Microsoft Word Document/AWE-FULL moments brainstorm, it is time to organize your information into a POWERPOINT.
1. Choose a format/design of PowerPoint that you like.
2. Make your birth date and place your opening slide.
3. Put only ONE event on each slide to follow.
4. Try to find images to place on your slides. (ie. Born in Prince Albert - perhaps a picture of the city or the hospital you were born in)
5. You may use instagram as a source to save photos to your folder from. 
6. Miss Rybinski will show you a sample of a PowerPoint timeline next class (once she returns).
7. If you complete the PowerPoint please save as "LAST NAME, FIRST LETTER OF FIRST NAME: TIMELINE POWERPOINT".
8. We will be presenting these Timelines to our class! (BECAUSE WE CELEBRATE LIFE...AND NOT JUST WITH COOKIES!)
